Hi I'm Talia

I go crazy living in Suburbia. I live for sunsets and the outdoors. I am a full-time missionary headed to Singapore.I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love riding horses, hiking, diving, yoga, and surfing. I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Family is my everything. My younger brother is a dwarf and through his hardships has taught me to be strong even when the world makes me feel weak. In the past, I have been a dive coach, swim instructor, lifeguard, receptionist, babysitter, house cleaner, ranch hand, and even worked in construction. In Idaho and Hawaii, I attended college studying Biology and Psychology. I hope to become a Midwife.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the Church when I was 8 years of age and it was the best decision I have made in my life thus far (oh wait, serving a mission was the other best decision). I remember when I finally turned 8 and was so excited to be baptized. I constantly reminded my mother and even begged her in the end, telling her I was prepared. In my family of 8 children, it was always our choice of what to believe and we acted on our own accord. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the only perfect thing on this earth and it is my rock when the rest of the world crumbles. I know that the Church is perfectly true, regardless of the imperfect people that may be members. I know that Christ loves me infinitely and I will return to live with Him and Heavenly Father again because of the marvelous Plan of Happiness. By being baptized, I was able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost which I will forever cherish. I love my God and hope to show him that love by serving the people around me.

How I live my faith

To be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, I am studying Chinese at the Missionary Training Center in Utah so I can invite the people of Singapore/Malaysia to come unto Him. I attend church each Sunday where I learn how to be a better person. Once a week, I go to the Temple where I honor my ancestors, realign my life with the teachings of Christ and learn of His plan for me. Although I have a long way to go, I try to be genuine and kind to those around me and live my life in a way that would make my Heavenly Father happy.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Heavenly Father created and presented a perfect Plan of Happiness for ALL of us on earth and we accepted this plan with vigor. This plan was to come to earth and receive a physical body. Here, we are free to make our own choices between good and evil. These choices help us gain experience and right choices help us become more like our Father in Heaven. In this life, we are to establish our own families under the proper authority. Families can be unending and eternal. After this life, we can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and obtain a fullness of joy. Show more Show less
