Hi I'm Sterling Kirk Smith

I like to skate, make films, and eat tacos. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Utah, but when I turned 2 my family moved to Tennessee. Growing up in Tennessee I had many great friends who were christians. In High-school, I was the only Mormon. This gave me a great opportunity to share with my friends and teachers my testimony. Many did not know that Mormons believed in Christ, so I always tried to live in a way where they could see that Christ is the center of my life. Looking back, I feel blessed to have grown up in a city where I could share my testimony daily of this Gospel to others who might not know much or anything about what Mormons believe. After High-school, I left Tennessee and was called to serve a 2 year mission in Ecuador. My mission was to serve. To go and help others come unto Christ. That they too may experience the same blessings and happiness that I have experienced throughout my life. Now that my mission has concluded, I am studying film making in Utah. I love making films, taking pictures, skating, surfing, snowbaording, etc. and I hope that I can use my talents to help and bless the lives of others.

Why I am a Mormon

It's simple. I know that God answers our prayers. When I have questions or doubts about anything, I turn to God. He is more than willing to answer our prayers, it only depends on us to have sufficient faith to pray and ask. I am Mormon, because I have prayed and asked. The feelings and comfort that I receive when I pray, read the scriptures, or attend church testifies to me that this Church is true. Through much prayer and faith, I do not just believe but I know that this is God's Church. With all the confusion in the world, He wants us to know the truth, and it all comes down to if we will pray and ask.

How I live my faith

To me, My faith is more than just beliefs. I feel that faith is living and practicing what someone believes. Faith is action. I know that I can show my Father in heaven that I have faith in him by my actions. If I truly love My father in Heaven than I will serve him. Than I will strive to Live my life in accordance to His standards and His commandments. Than I will constantly turn my sins over to him and change. Denying all un-righteouness and fighting to always be pure and worthy of His spirit and His love. Faith to me is trying my best, knowing that the Lord will do the rest.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Sterling Kirk Smith
I found out that Mormonism is true by reading, praying, and asking God if the Book of Mormon is real. And if these things really happened. I received an answer, and I promise you that you will too. God loves you, and wants you to be happy. In James 1: 5 it reads, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." He promises us that he will answer our prayers. Please, don't take my word for it, but find out for yourself. Take Moroni's Challenge (Moroni 10: 4-5) read and pray with a sincere heart. You might not receive an answer at first, but God will answer your prayers. Show more Show less
