Hi I'm Matt Perkins

Hi, I'm Matt, I want to travel the world and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

If there is anything outside I love to do it. I like working outside, sports, hiking, and really just enjoying being outside. In high school I played lots of sports. Ice Hockey, lacrosse, and football were my main hobbies. I also like to travel and I probably get that from my mom. We have been all around the country and I am blessed to see so many different places and seen so many different things. As of now I am attending college and enjoying it. I am preparing to serve a mission which is gonna be way cool! I can't wait.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been in the church throughout all my life so I really don't have a typical conversion story. However I still like to think I was converted to the church. To be honest being raised in the church has been a blessing I never realized until now. Growing up going to church and doing the regular church things was a daily routine. I never thought anything of it. However when I was going to high school my mindset changed somewhat. Because I had always been raised in the church, I guess I thought that I already had everything made for me. I didn't read my scriptures, and really didn't have a testimony of the church. I could never deny the things in which I learned throughout all my years of being in the church, but I didn't know if I really wanted to live by them. So to say the least, high school was rough and some mistakes were made. To make matters worse I have always been a little hard headed. I never wanted to serve a mission. And I never abided to the teaching and guidelines the church set out because I thought I could do things my way and still be fine. I could never have been more wrong. One day as I was scrolling through Facebook I saw some pictures of my friends serving missions and how much joy it brought to the people they were serving, the missionaries families, and the missionary themselves. I saw pictures of relatives who are happily married and sealed to their families for eternity. And I thought to myself, "Am I happy? In ten years from now where will I be and will I be happy?". These two questions hit me unexpectedly hard. I started to really think about the life I was living and how far off I was. It was that instant that made me start putting Christ at the center of my life. To wrap things up, I have prepared myself to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Germany Berlin mission. I have never been happier and testify that this Church is a Church of happiness. I

How I live my faith

Right now while I am attending college I am a sacrament coordinator. My previous calling in the church have been Elders quorum teacher where I had the opportunity to teach lessons to the elders every other sunday. I was also the Bishops first councilor in the priests quorum. I read my scriptures every day in preparation to serve a mission.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Matt Perkins
Well... Family is soo important when it comes to me and being Mormon. My family means the world to me and to think that some people of other faiths think that it is only temporary is extremely sad. I know that families can be together forever and that just makes me even more excited to start my own. I personally believe families are at the center of the church and society. They are just so crucial to life and happiness. I LOVE my family and I KNOW that we can live forever. Show more Show less
