Hi I'm Logan Brent Skinner

I've been LDS all of my life. high school graduate as of May 22, 2014. Ready to serve a mission in Salvador, Brazil.

About Me

Born in Chandler, Arizona and currently live in Mesa. I've lived in Albuquerque, NM and Sacramento, CA before. I am about to graduate High School as an honor roll student. I've taken and thoroughly enjoyed 4 years of Spanish and can manage to hold off basic to intermediate-level conversations. I absolutely love listening to music, especially different sub genres of rock-and-roll from the early '60's all the way to the early 80's. I used to play baseball and soccer as a kid but I'm not as athletic as I used to be. I enjoy using computers, and I can type between 80-90 WPM. I love being around family and friends as much as I'm sure anyone does. I plan on majoring in either a criminal justice or a computer science degree after I get back from my mission and I hope to be able to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), but of course I'm not dead set on this. I've been raised my entire life within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

There are few things I am certain about in my life, but there's just something about being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the blessings that entail that make me feel like I belong here. I've come to develop a testimony, or a personal belief, that this church was founded through divine inspiration and that the prophet Joseph Smith, jr., who gave his life defending the Book of Mormon from his oppressors, could not have founded this church for any other reason except through God. I simply do not understand how the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, or the rest of our religious doctrine and teachings could be false when they point us to Jesus Christ and how we can be like Him.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been monumental in shaping who I am today. I have presided over several youth leadership groups from the age of 12 all the way until today and I've learned not only how to build myself up and others spiritually through learning and by example, but I've also been blessed with knowledge in leadership, communication, and various other skills (event planning, etc.). I also understand the importance of establishing a relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ through scripture study, prayer, and service to others. I am currently preparing myself to serve a mission in Salvador, Brazil where I will preach in the Portuguese language. On September 24th, 2014, I will be leaving for the Missionary Training Center located in the city of Sao Paulo. There, I will be restrained to extremely limited contact with close friends and family and through the Spirit, I will teach others about the restored gospel, the importance of Jesus Christ, and how they can return to the presence of our Father in Heaven by obeying his commandments.
