Hi I'm Daniel

I grew up in California, and I am now serving as an LDS missionary in the Marshall and Kiribati islands.

About Me

I have grown up in the LDS church, and I have loved the opportunity to be a part of it. I have also always loved to play sports and in high school I was able to participate in football, basketball, and volleyball. While I always dreamed of having a career in sports I was forced to explore other options because of the frequent injuries that I received from being involved in various athletics. Consequently, I began to shift my focus to academics and through hard work I was able to graduate early from high school and gain admittance to Brigham Young University. I have since completed a semester at BYU and have now received my mission call to go and serve in the Marshall and Kiribati islands in the Micronesia area. I have never been more excited to be a part of something in my life, nor have I ever been more dedicated and prepared to accomplish something than what I am going to do for the next two years of my life because I know that this church is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. My family is Mormon. My friends are Mormon. Many of the role models that I have had in life are Mormon. None of these however are why I am Mormon. I am Mormon because I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it countless times and it has blessed my life in countless ways. I am Mormon because it makes me happy. I am Mormon because in times of need, when no one else could possibly be there for me, the knowledge that I have allows me to know that there is someone who is there for me. In those moments of my life, when my dreams have been crushed, when my friends have abandoned me, when when my body has failed me, I know that I can pray and feel an assurety that there is someone taking care of me. I am Mormon because I know that when I have made the dumbest descisions there is a way to make it better. The atonement performed by Jesus Christ giving everyone the ability to be saved if they repent is one of the key reasons that I have such a strong faith that this is the true church. I say that because I have felt its redeeming qualities. I have felt the love that comes from correcting a wrong and there is no one who can tell me that I didn't. I'm Mormon because of my faith.

How I live my faith

The LDS church is an extremely involved church. I have had the opportunity to serve others in the church since the time that I was twelve when I was called to be the secretary for the group of boys that were my same age. From that point on I have been involved in many more callings and with each of these various responsibilities that I have taken upon me I have been asked to watch and take care of others. While at times they seemed to be pointless and sometimes boring, the work that I did for each of those callings worked to ensure that others needs had been met. We as members of this church believe in watching and taking care of each other even if it may come at a sacrifice to ourselves. I will be soon entering the mission field where I will dedicate my life to the Lord and others for two years. This seems extreme to many people and I am often questioned as to why I do it? and the truth is I don't know why the Lord needs me specifically thousands of miles away in the Marshall islands, but I do know that what I have to say can fill the lives of whoever will listen with joy. I have the ability to rebuild people's lives and that is worth my time.
