Hi I'm Danielle Corbett

I grew up in Mauriceville Texas. I was the only active member at my school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a little town in Texas and am a die hard Texan. I am the oldest of four in my family. My family means the world to me. I got married July 25th 2014 in the Bountiful Utah temple. I met my husband at BYU-I where I graduated from as a biology major in December of 2014. I enjoy the outdoors especially when it is warm outside. My husband and I now live in Katy Texas where the Lord is blessing our lives everyday. But we do miss the mountains and the beauty of Utah. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is crafts. I love the store Porters! Its craft paradise!

Why I am a Mormon

All through high school I was the only active member of the church. I was know as "the Mormon." I had struggles like any high school student would. But I did have some interesting experiences that caused me to question to myself "is it worth it?" I wondered what my life would be without the knowledge of the Gospel. I could date who I wanted and wouldn't get picked on about my faith. I would try to imagine my life without going to church and taking the sacrament and not being married in the temple. After I really thought and imagined those scenarios of my life I knew. I knew that I would miss out on real joy. I knew that I would be giving up so much. And most importantly I knew that the gospel was true. I knew that turning away from the church would just be a lie to myself. That was when I first had a real testimony of the gospel. My testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel has only grown since. I know that my Savior lives. I know that God speaks to his prophets and us today. I know that I will be with my family forever. I know that the priesthood has been restored. I know that we can be forgiven of our sins. I know that the Savior died for everyone. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that we are children a Heavenly Father. This is why I am a Mormon. Because I know.

How I live my faith

When I was in a young single adult ward at school and I taught Sunday school. I loved to teach that class. I learned so much from studying the lessons and from the comments of those I taught. The most important lesson I learned was that I am not the one who teaches. The Holy Ghost is the one who will touch those that are in the class. I am also a visiting teacher. I have women that I am assigned to that I visit every month. This may seem like a drag sometimes but it is a wonderful opportunity to not only serve the women in the church but to also create friendships. I have recently started doing family history work with has been so fun and such a blessing in my life. By doing this work we are linking generations together for eternity. I live my faith by trying to do what is right especially when know one is looking. I try to be an example of charity and happiness to my family and friends around me. I live my faith by "practicing what I preach."
