Hi I'm Maggie Smith

I'm a South Dakota girl. I love naps, books, and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My parents raised in me a small town in South Dakota. I am the middle child of five, blessed to have my siblings as my best friends. Music is my passion, and I am constantly singing. I also have talents in playing piano, marathon napping, and eating chocolate. I just finished up my first year at Brigham Young University and will be taking some time off from my studies to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Southern Florida, speaking Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the Mormon faith by my parents, who raised me in its teachings. However, it is because of my own experiences that I know that this is God's true church on the Earth. I have felt His spirit confirm in my heart time and time again. I'm a Mormon because this faith has given me the knowledge that I am a child of God and that He loves me. I am so grateful to know that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me and is there to guide me through my life. My life has not always been easy, but it has been blessed because of this gospel. I'm a Mormon because this faith helps me to better come to know my Savior. I know that He suffered and died for me, but more importantly, He lives for me. Through Him, I can be forgiven of my sins. Through Him, I have the strength to get through this life. Through Him, I have a hope that I might be able to live with my Father in Heaven again. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, and I know that it is the word of God because I have felt its power as I read its words. I know Joseph Smith translated it and was a true prophet of God and that we have a prophet on the Earth today. I'm a Mormon because the gospel brings happiness and light into my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to become more like Christ each day. He is the ultimate example of love and purity. Though I am far from perfect, I try to become a better daughter of God each day. I say my prayers and read my scriptures each day in order to better know Him. As I have put Him first, my life has been blessed, and I have never been happier. It is this joy that motivates me to share the gospel with others. I want others to experience His light from my example and service. I am so excited to go on a full-time mission and to be able to share His love with the people of Florida.
