Hi I'm Thomas Burton

I grew up in Utah. I'm a devoted Engineering Student I am currently serving and L.D.S. Mission to Germany, Berlin I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Living in Oklahoma, Texas, and now Utah, I have always been interested in Music. All 3 of my siblings and both of my parents either are or were in band or choir in high school and college. I play trombone, and loved my high school jazz band, and loved performing even more. It will always be a part of my life. After my Mission I plan on attending Utah State University and studying Engineering. In addition to music, I have a great love of learning, of knowledge, and of understanding. The ability to understand the world, and how it works, is one of my deepest desires. Since I first began to read, I strived to understand more about what was going on around me, how the world works. I hope to spend my life continuing to learn, and teach those around me what I have discovered.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know of the truth of this Gospel beyond my ability to deny it. I'm a Mormon because of the joy, hope, and love I feel as a member of this church. I'm a Mormon because I owe my whole being to my Savior, and hope in some small way to express my appreciation to Him through my work.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by devoting my whole being to God, and Truth, which flows from My God. I don't fulfill my callings, I strive to magnify and live them. I always search for those around me who need my help, or even are just willing to accept my help, as often in service I am the one who truly benefits. Because of this, home teaching is one of my favorite callings. Being able to enter a home and assist a family in such a variety of ways, from cleaning to priesthood blessings, is truly an opportunity I would never pass up.

What is faith?

Thomas Burton
To me, faith is a verb. Having faith does not mean sitting in a church congregation and crying "Amen!!" when the pastor recites a scripture. To me, faith is more then believing in your heart. To me, Faith is the Action that you take when your belief becomes strong enough to compel you to serve your fellow man, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
