Hi I'm Courtney

I love to exercise. I love to be in the outdoors. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Courtney. I am Samoan, Hawaiian, Chinese, Swedish, and English. I am currently a college student preparing to serve my mission in Sweden. I was born in Hawaii, but moved away when I was still young. I continued to keep moving to different houses and different places. At the time of the each move I was never happy to leave, but I am so grateful for the many times I have moved because it has made me the person that I am. It has made me love change. Being able to adapt to new surroundings is something that has really benefited me in my life. One thing that has stayed constant in my life besides my loving family is my passion for sports and exercise. My favorite sport and the thing that consumed my High School life was volleyball. Each volleyball team I was a part of became my family, each player my sister. From volleyball I have learned dedication, teamwork, responsibility, and much more. After High School I did not continue to play volleyball competitively, but I continue to keep exercise and health a big priority in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because Christ lives, and this is his true church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me more happiness and blessings than I could ever deserve. Being a Mormon gives me peace and an understanding of families. I am so grateful to know that I can live with my family forever. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that every word in this book is the truth and is from God. I know this because I have knelt down and prayed in sincerity and asked if the Book of Mormon is true. I have never felt such a strong confirmation of truth. The warmth and love that I felt in my heart is something that I will never forget. I was only 8 years old and I did not know much, but I knew and I know today that that answer was from my Heavenly Father. I know this is the true Church and I know that the teachings of the Church, the words of the prophets, and the scriptures are all for our benefit. I am a Mormon and I love it. If you ever have a question or a doubt, get on your knees and genuinely pray to Heavenly Father. You will receive an answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best sister, friend, leader, and person that I can be. I live my faith not only by studying the principles and doctrines of the Church, but by living them. I try to be a good example to everyone around me, whether I they know me or not. I try to live my life in a way that people will want to know Christ because they know me. I am in no way perfect, but I strive everyday to be more like Christ.
