Hi I'm Kylee

I grew up in Mesquite Nevada. I want to be a kindergarden teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am preparing to serve a mission in Carlsbad California. In high school I was on the girls soccer team and in the battery of my school's marching band. I love music, sport, Disney movies, and burritos. Once I return from my mission I will continue to study music and beginning studying Elementary Education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born in a family that taught me the truthfulness of the gospel. I was baptized in May of 2002 when I was 8 years-old and I can still remember how clean I felt after my baptism. I also remember feeling Satan trying to discourage me so that I would not get baptized. Even though I was raised going to the LDS church I still had to gain my own testimony of the gospel. The spirit confirmed to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church upon the earth by attending seminary, reading the Book of Mormon, and participating in personal progress. Seminary is a four-year religious educational program for youth ages 14-18. In seminary we studied the King James Bible, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. As I studied and attended the Holy Ghost testified to me that what I was being taught was true. The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Christ given by those who lived in the Americas. I came to know THe Book of Mormon to be the word of God when I was about 15. I decided I wanted to know for myself so I prayed and asked Heavenly Father to help me know if the book was translated by his power and then I started to read it. As I read in 1 Nephi certain passages where highlighted in my mind testifying of it's truthfulness. From that day I knew and I have never doubted that the church is true. Personal Progress is a program created for girls 12-18 to learn of their divine nature and individual worth. That values taught in the person program are faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue. These values help girls prepare to be good mothers, strengthen their testimony of Christ, and become woman of God. Personal Progressed changed me. It helped my develop habits of daily scripture study, prayer, and faith. The gospel brings a happiness that cannot be described. As I live the standards taught I am filled with joy and peace.

How I live my faith

I serve as a member of the Fellowship council. My job is to make sure everyone feels welcome at church and various other activities we have through out the week. I attend institute through out the week which is similar to bible study. I am blessed to have the opportunity to attend the temple often and participate in proxy baptisms for my ancestors.
