Hi I'm Richmond

I love people, playing video games, and learning how to be the best I can be through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I'm open-minded and try my best to understand others through other forms than just words, through my interests of food, movies, video games, sports. I am told I can be socially awkward and have learned to enjoy that about myself. I try to live deeply.

Why I am a Mormon

I was very close to my dad when from the time I was born. My brother and I would always spend good time with him and my mom. When I was 8 my dad was working as an electrician for the county in Huntington Beach and worked on street lights. He was working one day and was in a cherry picker(the truck's with the arm and a bucket that are used to reach places). A lady was talking on her cellphone and did not merge but crashed into the truck breaking the arm and my dad fell 18 feet head first into asphalt. I was at home with my cousin when we got the call. We rushed to the hospital and stayed until about midnight. They wouldn't let my brother and I see him because he was so injured. To keep him alive they put him in a medically induced coma for 2 weeks. He almost died but survived, albeit with severe mental limitations and his legs were paralyzed. For about 2 years our family went in and out the hospital everyday to visit him and for physical therapy. We ended up moving to the area we live now. On a random day sister missionaries came to share the message. I was into it at all but my mom thought it'd be good for us. We went through the lessons and eventually got baptized. It was great and helped me enjoy life more and feel God's love. I felt confident in who I was and because of Christ's sacrifice I was free to choose everything in my life. I was free to choose eternal life and happiness and to grow from trials rather than be drug down by them. I have tried the word of God from the Book of Mormon and I know they are true. I know it and I know that God knows it, and I cannot deny it. I am learning everyday and trying to always question, read, ponder and pray. So far so good as I see it.

How I live my faith

I have done many hours of community service and have learned to find it fun. I've served in simple callings where I've done my best to serve those in the ward. I enjoy getting to know people and being their friends in the capacity of hometeaching. I think that's important more than getting their name checked off. I like to follow but I still have done my small share of leading in the church.
