Hi I'm Jordan White

I'm English. The Church and Book of Mormon is true. Missionary in London South. Serve. Teach. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in the England London South Mission until May 2016. I read that "there is no greater joy than serving in your own country" and so I'm excited to partake of that joy while I serve. I worked as a Business Administrator and sometimes Manager for 2 years in Online Sales. I have always enjoyed playing sports, I have won events in Tennis, Basketball, Football at secondary school and regional level. I have coaching certificates and badges. I enjoy going to the cinema and watching different kinds of films, especially comedies and thrillers. I like to read information about the films I watch as it regards to the actors and making of said film. I listen to a wide variety of music as I find different types can aid the mood I may be in at the time. I like to down lyrics in song/poem/rap, it is a great way of being creative. I enjoy quiz/trivia games and am always wanting to expand my knowledge of as many topics as possible. I have very good knowledge of World Geography, especially countries, flags and capitals. At school, I was a Prefect, Peer Mentor and School Council representative. I'm pretty sarcastic and funny I would say but then again, that comes with being English!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but I still experienced life outside of the church through rough patches in my teenage years. I quickly understood that living the gospel and being a active member of the church is the only way to achieve true happiness. Living its principles and teachings brings joy and peace in my life. By keeping the commandments as best we can and continually wanting to change and become better, we can always feel like we are achieving greatness and feel closer to our Heavenly Father. Life is difficult. No doubt about it. But its a whole lot easier when you are living the gospel and understand your purpose in this life. That is why I am serving as a missionary, so I can help people understand that they are not alone, that someone loves them and wants the best for them and that they can change throught the power of the Atonement. I invite anyone reading this who is not a member of our faith to meet with missionaries and discuss with them things that may be troubling you or things you may have questions about, I can promise you that they will have answers and you can know the truthfulness of this gospel for yourself. I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, the Saviour and Redeemer of ALL the world, and he offers a simple yet important invitation to "Come Follow Me" and if we do so, we can feel so much peace, joy and happiness in this life (isn't that what we all want?) and I bear witness and testimony to these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith to the best of my ability, the Lord only asks of us to try our best and always improve. I have built my foundations in the gospel and its teachings. There IS great power in prayer, I feel it every single day. It has greatly blessed me to know that no matter how I'm feeling or what's going on in my life, I can rely on the Lord to help me and he is always there. I read from the scriptures every single day, they give me answers, inspiration and guidance in what I need to do to be better and come closer to Christ. I try to show kindness, love and generosity to all who I meet and be an 'example of the believers'.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Jordan White
Because we are true church of Jesus Christ. Christ himself was never paid for his ministry, teachings or service so why should we. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Jordan White
Joseph Smith was a young boy who wanted an answer to a question. "Which church is right?" Sound familiar? All young people ask questions and want to know the answers. He found out how to ask that question by reading the Bible. He prayed and asked God. He received his answer in a vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. All the churches were wrong and although they had parts of truth, Joseph Smith would be called to be a prophet. Just like prophets in the past, to restore and teach the true and everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ AND recieve the priesthood authority (permission from God) which can only be found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Why did your church previously practice plural marriage (polygamy)?

Jordan White
The Lord commanded it to happen for the protection, growth and safety of the early saints. He commanded it in the past with prophets such as Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, David and Solomon to name a few. It is condemned unless the Lord authorizes it through his chosen prophet on the earth.
