Hi I'm Denise Hamberger

I am a hair stylist and a busy stay at home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading. Although I don't always have the time I would like, I spend spare moments curled up with a book. I like to be active in my community and volunteer my time on several boards. My family is my favorite hobby. Between my husband and my seven children I spend most of my free time watching them, helping them, and sharing time with them. I went to school to be a Hair Stylist. I have worked in Salons and in my home. I love to help people with their hair. My mom decorated cakes while I was growing up. I learned a few skills from her and love to create cakes for my family and friends. I have done several wedding cakes, including my own. I love to see the happiness a fun cake can bring to a party. I grew up in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Although the northwest and its beauty are familiar to me when I moved to Alaska I found a beauty that can not compare. I live in a small coastal community that has many beauties and activities that will forever be close to my heart. Each year for my birthday my favorite present from my family is to go on a hike and enjoy the magnificent world that our Heavenly Father has created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to be raised by parents who loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and taught me to live in his ways. I have found that the blessing that have come to my life because of these things are more important to me then anything the world has to offer. I strive to keep the commandments so that I can be worthy of the great sacrifice that Jesus Christ gave for me.

How I live my faith

I have held many responsibilities within my church organization. I have spent many years teaching, playing, camping and laughing with the youth. One of my favorite things I have done is teach songs to the young children. I was very over whelmed when I started this thinking that I did not have the skills for such a job but soon I looked forward to it. Right now I am working with the women. Teaching classes and organizing events. I thoroughly enjoy each assignment I am given. The scriptures tell us that when you are in the service of your fellow man you are in the service of God. Sunday is a day that I look forward to. To fill my soul with the peace and inspiration that I need to keep going.
