Hi I'm Kelly

I grew up in Utah at the base of a 12,000 foot mountain, a great backdrop for life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and grandfather. I hold a two college degrees and am an educator. I have a number of interests and enjoy the variety they provide. I am a fair gardener but a better but a better fly fisherman. I have loved my life and am very happy.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I am a "Utah Mormon," I did not exactly grow up in the LDS Church. My parents were LDS but were not active participants. My attachment to the Church was spotty at best. It was not until I was fifteen that I began to seek an understanding. This was a personal choice and I did what millions have done. I read the Book of Mormon and asked God in prayer if it was really true. I did the same with the Bible. These were very powerful experiences for a fifteen year old and can be for anyone at any age. I discovered that their is a God, the father of our spirits, and he does answer prayers. I know this is a truth. We are not an accidental chemical reaction in some primordial soup. We are children of a Heavenly Father who loves us and there is a detailed plan for each of us dependent on our right to choose.

How I live my faith

I am a very active participant in my religion and have served in the LDS Church as a local leader. It has helped grow my love for people. I have tried to served in a number of positions in the Boy Scouts of America, from merit badge counselor to Council Executive Board Member.
