Hi I'm Heather

I am a student, missionary, and friend. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

This last year, I completed my freshman year of college at Brigham Young University, so I guess that qualifies me as a student. :) I enjoy being outdoors, reading, playing the piano, and trying new things. Right now, I am serving a mission in southern Texas, and I absolutely love it! Heat and all! There is nothing better than sharing the thing that brings me the most joy with the people I meet every day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but I have my own testimony of its truth. I have prayed and studied with all my heart to know if it really is the true gospel, and I have felt peace each time I have asked. I know that Joseph Smith did see God the Father and his son Jesus Christ, and that they restored the gospel to the earth through him. I know that God has given us prophets today to lead us and to guide us, because He loves us so very much. My life has been so blessed as I have followed the counsel of these great men, and I know that anyone who makes an effort to follow their guidance will also be blessed.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for opportunities to serve and uplift others. During this last year of college, I led a group of my peers in various activities each week. It gave us the opportunity to get to know each other, share experiences, and help each other navigate the ups and downs of being a freshman. We had a lot of fun, but we also learned a lot from each person in our group. Like I said, I am currently serving a proselyting mission for this church. Serving a mission is not a requirement for members of the Mormon church, but I choose to serve because I want to share this message of joy and of peace with the world. It brings me so much happiness that I can't help but want to tell everyone about it. :)
