Hi I'm Kristen

I like mermaids. My favorite color is Blue. I love the outdoors. I strive to laugh & be happy. I live in New York. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm recently graduated from High school and have been called to serve as a missionary in the New York, New York South Mission. I'm pretty stoked about it. I play golf, and I participated in student government. I live the average small town teenager life and love to go on adventures in the outdoors with my pals. I work at Wendy's, basically it's a tedious job, but I'm ever so grateful to be able to earn my own money. Upon my return from my mission. I plan on going to college at Utah State in Logan, Utah to study elementary education. (: I love my family and friends, and the example they've been to me, but more importantly I love the gospel and the true happiness it brings into my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because its the only way I know ill be able to experience full joy. As I have accepted the teachings and simple doctrines I have come to know for myself that the things that are taught are true. This is the one and only true gospel on the world. I know that Jesus Christ is the one who established the gospel and showed us the way. I cant help but think there could be any other way than the one he showed us. I know that when I mess up or fall short of following Him, I can be made whole through the Atonement of our Savior. I just love how the spirit is my guide and I can rely on Him through all my trials and faults. annnnnd I can live with my family for eternity. That's kind of a big deal!! The gospel makes you truly happy, and that happiness is only available because it was restored to the earth. Heavenly Father truly loves us. His plan wasn't for us to come down here to earth and be miserable. We are to be happy and find joy. He's just waiting for us to open our eyes and heart so He can show us where its at.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to mutual each week and participating as the laurels class president. It's pretty neat! I also read my scriptures often and like to pray to my Father so I can better my relationship with Him.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

The Book of Mormon prophet Alma compared faith to a seed. If you plant a seed and nourish it, if it is a good seed it will grow and eventually bear fruit (Alma 32:28-43). It is the same with faith. If you are obedient to God’s commandments, study His word, and have a desire to believe in Christ, faith will grow inside of you. I think some of the hardest things to do, are often the easiest. I know that sometimes it is hard to follow the commandments. I also know that our desire to follow the commandments can come from following three simple things; Prayer, Reading our scriptures (including the Book Of Mormon) and going to church. Doing those things nourishes our faith and strengthens our relationship with Heavenly Father. if we have a good relationship with Him...we trust him more. which increases our faith. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jesus Christ had to die for us, because without his sacrifice we would have no way to return back to Heavenly Father. Were all a bunch of humans down here, and very imperfect. We know that imperfect things cant be in Gods presence. As much as we want to be perfect were in such a sinners world that there is no way we can be perfect. Because of the atonement we can be washed of our sins. Yaaaay!! We allow the atonement to work in our lives when we have faith in Christ, change our lives so that we are following him and the commandments of God. (another word for that change is Repentance.) Then were baptized and confirmed by someone who holds the proper and restored priesthood. Then we do all we can to live faithfully (go to church, read our scriptures, pray...) and participate in the ordinances that are necessary to return to Gods presence. We are so lucky to have such a simple plan to follow!! Were so lucky that we have a savior who although sinless, was willing to give up his life for us. I know it was an act of love. As long as we follow those steps to be clean from our sins....we are in good shape!! plus we will be happy. Who doesn't want happiness?? Show more Show less
