Hi I'm Adam

I grew up in Japan. I'm a facilitator. I'm a future missionary. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to hike, there's just something so soothing about quiet mountains. I love to go swimming and rivers are almost a second home to me. I'm from a military family, and grew up on an Air Force base in Japan. I love volunteering and helping children in my community. I have a huge desire to travel and to help people who don't even have life's basic essentials

Why I am a Mormon

This is actually a question that I think about often. When it comes down to the basest point, I guess it's because the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the thing that makes me the happiest man in the world. I was born into the church but I really did doubt it late in my life, so much so that I decided that I wanted to become a Catholic and even wanted to remove my name from the church. This point in my life came because I didn't realize what the church meant to me. After losing my faith and falling away I went through a very hard time with severe depression mixed with other things such as disobeying the Word of Wisdom. I wasn't happy and so one day I received the testimony of a friend very close to me and I decided to read the Book of Mormon. Reading it, I felt that this book drew me closer to Christ and that it was true. I found my faith and ever since then I've been working on being a better man and preparing for a mission. It is hard to leave the bad behind, but this Church brings such joy into your life that it is worth it. Why am I a Mormon?? Because this is where I'm the happiest man I can ever be

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the things I've been asked to and then trying to do more. I do the basic things like morning & evening prayer, scripture, church attendance and such. The biggest thing that I try to do is share my church with others. Be it defending our beliefs or sharing it's joy with others, this church has the ability to bring light to other peoples' lives and that is what I want to do.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Adam
Yes, Jesus Christ in his resurrected glory did come down and minister unto the inhabitants of the Americas. It's the climax of the Book of Mormon, where Christ comes down and shows himself unto the people of the land. They were his other sheep which he spoke of in his ministry in Israel. He healed the sick, cured the blind, and performed all his miracles the same as he did among the Jews. The people loved him and the Gospel was established so strongly that the next several generations passed away in righteousness. Show more Show less
