Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in Provo, Utah. I am studying to be a School Psychologist. I am a husband and a father and I am a Mormon

About Me

First, I am a husband and a father. This is what my life revolves around. I love my wife and my daughter with all of my heart. This has been the hardest and the most rewarding part of my life and I wouldn't change is for the world. Currently I am studying to become a school psychologist. I love the mind and how it works. I am excited to go into this field and help children succeed in their academic and personal lives. I love sports! I have been a sports fan since birth. Now that I have gotten older, I have loved the numbers behind sports and the process of building a poor team into a great team. I also love music! I am huge into Indie music. Sometimes when I just need to get away and relax, I will plug in my ipod and empty my mind for a little while. I am also a big fan of concerts. Hearing a band play their music live is one of my favorite things to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ with all of my heart. It's amazing how often I sin or do something wrong and how quickly I can feel His loving arms around me after I repent. The amazing thing is it happens every time I repent. That is first how I knew that the sacrifice that our Lord and Savior made was and is real. I love my Savior, because He loved my first. This is why I am a Christian. Why I am a Mormon, is the testimony that I have of The Book of Mormon. Every time I read the Book of Mormon, I feel of it's power. Every time. I get doubts from time to time. Sometimes those doubts can be pretty strong, but every time I read or think about the Book of Mormon, I know that this gospel is true, those doubts don't disappear immediately, but I receive a reassurance that I am doing what the Lord would want me to do. Because of the Book of Mormon, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know it. Because of the Book of Mormon, I know that there are modern day prophets and apostles here to guide us through these new a tough times that we face. Because of the Book of Mormon, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the church that contains all of the teachings that we need to return back to live with our families and our Heavenly Father forever.

How I live my faith

Currently I am living my faith through my family and through my congregation. One thing that has really made me nervous since becoming a father is creating a home that is centered on Christ and a safe haven for my children to come home, relax, and step outside of the world. This takes a lot of work and discipline. Personally studying the scriptures, praying consistently have been key in my efforts to achieve this goal. Also, reading and praying with my wife on a daily basis is how we, as a couple, show our love to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Being the best father I can be for my little girl is another way I live my faith. The family is so important and taking the time to be the best father that I can be, is another way that I live my faith.
