Hi I'm Sterling

I was raised in Bountiful, Utah. I own a Floor Covering Store. I have a wife and 4 Children and one Grandchild I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 Kids, a Son & Daughter in law and a grand baby on the way. Our family loves to snow & water ski together. We have recently gotten into mountain and road biking. I have competed in 6 triathelon's in the last few years and really enjoy swimming. Running is not my best event, however I have improved. Whenever I can spend time with my family I am truly the happiest. I love to watch my kids play sports. I have coached all of them in various sports. We love to play most sports together, we also love to cheer on our favorite teams together. We are big on Football, Basketball and Baseball. I believe that their is great strength that comes in doing things together as a family. I believe that God created families so we can help each other thru this life. I get a small glimpse of what our Heavenly Father must feel like as he encourages and tries to bless and help us, as I do the same for my family. When we help each other overcome challenges and as we turn to God for hlep it seems to be the natural thing to do. As one Father turns to his Father for help in raising his children. My Father died 20 years ago, I miss him and his daily influence in my life. I do often rely on things I learned from him, and I daily rely on my Heavenly Father to help me and my family thru lifes challenges. Both influences have made my life better and I hope I can do the same for my children now that they are starting their own families.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been born into the faith, I have asked my self . What if I hadn't been born into the church? Would I be strong enough to find the fullness of the Gospel. I hope that I would, I know that I have always been drawn to truth and light. The spirit of the Lord always professes truth, I find such joy and happiness studying the scriptures, and praying to my Father in heaven. I am so humbled that he loves me enought to answer my prayers, and to bless my family. I am so very grateful that I was born into his church, however If I hadn't been I would pray that someone would share it with me. That they would find a way to help me see what is there for all to see if they have ears to hear and eyes to see. I believe that is why I feel compelled to share my thoughts now. If there is someone who can read and feel my testimony, that God lives, he sent his Son to atone for our sins. He will send his spirit to guide you. He wants to bless you and help you find your way back to him. He is a loving Heavenly Father, he has granted us our agency so that we can by faith grow and learn the truths he has shared and does still share withus through the Holy Scriptures, His Prophet on the Earth and through personal revelation, most often in answer to humble prayer. He will speak to you through his spirit. It may be a warm feeling of comfort or acutal words that come to your mind, but He lives and so does his Son. In a world full of corruption and crime, It is a wonderful message. It is an age old message. I still believe that their is good in most people, That when they hear the truth the know it if they are open to it, it can grow in their hearts and swell until they must find out where it comes from and get on their knees and ask God. He will answer the humble prayer. He has answered mine. I had to have my own conversion, as does everyone.

How I live my faith

I have served in may callings in our church, I don't think a day goes by that I don't recall experiances I had while serving as a full time missionary when I was only 19 years old in the New England area. I grew to love those people as we taught them, cut wood with them, harvested potatoes and milked cows with them. They will always have a spot in my heart. Since my return from the Boston Massachusets Mission where I became a Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox fan. I have served most of my adult years working with the Youth. I have worked in the Cub Scouts and the Scouting programs as well as with the Church organized priesthood groups. The young men of this Church have often taught me much more than I them. Currently I work with and help the Young Women programs of the church in our local area. I work with a youth council of both Young Men and Young men who help plan activites for the youth in our area. It is inspiring to see the good that youth can do when they work together for the good of the group. I have also worked with Adult leadership in helping to organize home teaching, which is a program that organizes visits to everyone in our local church groups to be visited and watched over, so that we can help each other in any way that we can. Being involoved in local leadership has allowed me to make many visits to the homes of the elderly and the widowed, to do the work the Savior would do if he was here. I am always humbled by the strong faith of these elderly and sick members who love the lord, and are so grateful to have his holy sacraments brought to their homes.
