Hi I'm Cory

I love to play the trumpet. I'm currently preparing for a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior in high school wondering what I'm going to do with my life. I play the trumpet in my high school band sing in the choir. I love using music to inspire others. When I am feeling down, music helps me find direction in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church and was always taught the gospel from my parents; but this is not why I'm a Mormon--I'm a Mormon because I know, for myself, that this is Christ's restored gospel upon the earth. I have come to know through personal study and prayer that this is the only church that has all of the truths and principles that were present during Christ's mortal ministry. Priesthood authority, baptism by immersion, apostles, prophets, work for the dead--all these are present only in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love serving others. Each week some friends and I go to a local old folks' home and sing hymns and primary songs. As I've come to know these elderly individuals, I have grown to love them so much and my faith in the Savior's love has increased. I also work with the other 16-18 year-old boys in my ward, not just the members of my faith. These amazing young men have taught me so much that I am eternally grateful to them. I do my best to invite all of these boys to activities where they can feel safe and loved.

Are Mormons Christians?

We are called Mormons, but the full name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Our entire religion rests on the truth that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. We also believe he is the Son of God. I'm so grateful to have this knowledge. The blessings that have come to me through faith in Christ are enumerable. I want everyone who reads this to know that I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and that he lives. I AM a Mormon, but more importantly, I am a Christian. Show more Show less
