Hi I'm Jim

Hi my name is Jim Andrus. I am from Coalville Utah. I play the tuba and I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a member of the church since I was born. I have a strong testimony of the church and of the Book of Mormon. I'm 18 years old and I will be turning 19 in September 2014. I am a student at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. I study music performance there, specifically Classical Tuba Performance. It's my dream to become the principal tubist of a major symphony orchestra. I was recently called to serve a mission in the Germany Frankfurt mission. I leave June 18th and I am beyond excited! Germany is my favorite country in the world and I love the german language. Germany is home to many famous composers and is the birth place of the tuba! These next years are going to be fantastic! Additionally I like to go running, hike, sail, and do many other activities to stay active. I know the church is true and I'm looking forward to sharing that testimony with my brothers and sisters in Deutschland!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I truly believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's restored church on this earth. Through reading the Book of Mormon-another testament of Jesus Christ to accompany the bible- I have received a strong testimony of it's divine authenticity. Through spiritual experiences that I have had, I have been given answers to my prayers and help in my life. I have a strong testimony of the grace of God. That through his son Jesus Christ's atonement, we can be washed clean of even the worst sins, and no matter what we do, He will always still love us more than we can imagine. This gospel has brought me such great joy that I just want to share it with others. That's why I'm a Mormon and that's why I'm going on a mission.

How I live my faith

I strive to live the commandments in all my endeavors and to keep the spirit of the lord with my always. Of course I am human and fail at this often! When that is the case I am thankful for the miracle of repentance and that I can be washed clean of my sins. I stay active at church and try to make all my meetings. I was on the ward music council during the school year, but I currently don't have any calling other than missionary.
