Hi I'm Ben

I was borne in Chicago, Illinois. I have spent most of my life in North Carolina. I make food at Taco Bell. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving in the Salt Lake City South mission. My mission will be Spanish-speaking. I enjoy spending time with friends or just talking with others. I am an avid reader. I enjoy reading classical literature. I try to read at least one new book a week. I write in my journal daily. I am planning to go college after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

That's a tough question. It all started when I was 12. My dad got involved with the church, and almost instantly became a member of the church. My father encouraged me to go to church with me. I would always complain about going to church with my dad on Sunday morning, but when I got in church I would have no regrets for coming. Come to think of it, I have never had a bad time at church. When I was at church I felt calm. Church helped me relax and think about my life. As time passed I made friends at church, and started to get more involved in young men's activities. When I was 14 I knew that I wanted to join the church, but there were a few things, (marriage, temples, prophets, baptism etc.) that held me back from being baptized. I enjoyed church, but I didn't want to join until I knew it was true. People said the church was, but their are plenty of people who believe in their religion. I wanted to know for myself that the church was true. I read everything that I could find about the church. I read and reread The Bible to get a foundation in the gospel, and than I read the LDS Scriptures. I wanted to wait until I was 18 before I got baptized and became a member of the church. I finally got baptized at 16. I did not know everything at that point, and I wasn't 18. I was tired of waiting. I wanted to do something nice for myself. So now, I've been a member of the church for 3 years. I am serving a two-year mission in Utah, and I plan to be a Mormon for the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

In my home town I am a ward missionary. That being so, I try to go out with the missionaries once a week. I would provide the bread for sacrament meeting. I was also a hometeacher. Now that I am a missionary I will be using my time to bring others closer to Christ. I expect that I will be working mostly with less-active members.
