Hi I'm Camille

I'm a musician, swimmer, coach, and nature lover. I'm studying Exercise Science to become a Physical Therapist. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always had a love for the outdoors and animals. Growing up, I thought for sure my career would be involved with animals. Then in middle school I began playing violin. By high school I was sure I would study violin in college. Towards the end of high school I began to realize that I have always loved science and that was something I wanted to devote time to study. Throughout middle and high school I had developed a love of exercise and coaching. I do not remember the day I decided I wanted to be a Physical Therapist, but it somehow came to me. I had experience with an awesome Physical Therapist my freshman year of high school after I tore ligaments in my ankle while running hurdles in track. Once I began thinking about being a Physical Therapist, I realized the impact I could have on the lives of others. By helping people through therapy, I could help them through a low point in their lives. I knew from my coaching experience that I enjoyed helping people, especially on an individual basis where I could see their improvement. And so my decision to pursue Physical Therapy led me to choose Exercise Science as my undergraduate major and I am currently half way finished with my undergraduate degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon my entire life. My parents both joined the church when they were children and they have always made it a strong part of family life. Now I am an adult and I make choices for myself and I still choose to attend church. This is because over the years, I developed my own testimony of the gospel. I know for myself that it is true. I have read and continue to read the Book of Mormon. I have prayed about it and know that it is true. The gospel brings immense joy. Without the knowledge of the commandments our Heavenly Father has given us, I would be lost. I know that following the commandments makes life much happier. I have seen the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and felt His forgiveness for my sins. Because of the happiness the gospel brings to me, I have a desire to share it with others. I am going on an 18-month mission in order to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others so they can experience the same happiness.

How I live my faith

The Lord gives us talents and abilities so we can bless the lives of others. I have seen this to be true as I have been able to use my musical abilities in a church setting. In my college congregation, I was the pianist or chorister for hymns during meetings. We are taught that singing can be a way to praise the Lord and I know this to be true as I have felt peace and happiness while singing or playing hymns. When I play hymns on the violin, I can express my feelings through the music. The violin sings for me and I feel the power of the music. I am so grateful for the opportunities the Lord has given me to play music and how it strengthens my faith.
