Hi I'm Tanner Burton

I am an Eagle Scout. I love to sports, boating and exploring. I love serving others. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life and want to live it to the fullest extent. I love playing and watching all sports. My favorites to play are basketball, volleyball, and golf. I am an Eagle Scout and recently graduated high school. I grew up in Colorado and Utah, although my favorite place in the world is Lake Powell where I have spent a lot of summers boating and soaking up the sun. I just completed my first year of college studying mechanical engineering. I will now be serving as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Puerto Rico. I am super excited to serve and love the people there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the truth, light, direction, understanding, purpose and relationships the church provides me with. The church answers my many questions about this life such as: Who am I? Where did I come from? What is my purpose here on Earth? What happens after death? Without the church I would be lost and confused and don't know where I would turn for true answers to those fundamental questions. Most importantly, the church provides me with happiness. Not only does it tell me and shows me how to live in this life to be happy, but it also shows me the path I should follow to be happiest in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service to others. Recently, I served as an activities coordinator for my ward. This meant that I planned activities that would bring the people of my ward closer to each other and Jesus Christ. I also love to find opportunities to serve others even if they are just simple small acts of kindness. I will also soon be serving as a full time missionary. This means that I will spend everyday for two years serving and teaching the gospel to others who may be searching for the truth and light that the church provides. I know that my service helps others feel Christ's and Heavenly Father's love for them. I also know that I learn to love the people I serve, which is an attribute of Christ. Basically, I live my faith through service and kindness to others.
