Hi I'm Joseph

I'm a devoted husband and father and I love hiking and biking. I'm an executive in the steel industry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are the proud parents of two children and one grandson. We are devoted to our family, especially family vacations. We love the outdoors, especially hiking, biking and gardening. I work as a marketing executive in the steel industry in the United States, focusing on business development, training and consulting. I love serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life, when I felt very lost and alone, feeling there was no purpose to my life. A friend invited me to pray and ask for help. As I did, I felt an incredible feeling of being found by my Heavenly Father. As I acted upon those feelings following this experience, I was led to His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through my active participation in the Church, I learned more about my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Through my experiences in the Church, I now know that they know me, they love me and they want me to come back to them. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I know that I can and I know how I can.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Stake President in the Church. I love serving others because of how it makes me feel. I love studying the scriptures for how it helps me learn of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ for how it has healed me and continues to heal those who come to Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Joseph
As I desired to take the necessary steps to change my life, I learned how mistakes could be overcome, and how I could be set free from their effect on me. Trusting the guidance of a dear friend, I followed a path of recognizing and feeling deep sorrow for my mistakes, working to resolve each one the best I could, and then asking for forgiveness of those I had wronged, and from Heavenly Father. As I followed this path, I felt free, as though a huge weight had been lifted off of me. I felt clean. I didn't understand how at first, but over the years, I have continued to trust this process and now understand that Jesus Christ gave His life for me, so that through is sacrifice, I can be free from the effects of sin. In time, I learned that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is not limited to helping us overcome our mistakes and change our lives. Through a series of very intense challenges, I learned, through prayer, that I can be given strength and guidance to not only withstand the challenges of life, but to how to move forward in action in finding successful conclusions to trails and challenges. For me, the Atonement of Jesus Christ is very personal and real, and I have come to realize that Jesus Christ is a dear and trusted friend. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Joseph
For me, I first had to trust that Heavenly Father was real. The words of a friend, coupled with my strong desire to know, led me to pray. When I expressed my strong desire to know in prayer, I felt something I had never felt before in my life and I was left with an intense impression that Heavenly Father was not only real, but that He knew who I was, and that He loved me. As I yearned to keep my connection with Heavenly Father vibrant, I learned that I needed to act. I would get impressions of what to do next, and as I acted, the connection I felt so strongly at first, deepened. Daily activities such as prayer, scripture study, obeying, and helping others, are essential tools that continue in my life today, in staying connected to my Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
