Hi I'm Rowena

I grew up in Cavite City, Philippines. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate of B.S. Information Technology on 2010 from a Catholic School. I've received an award as "Best Student Digital Graphics Artist". I'd like to read, write, sing, dance, design and edit photos using Adobe Photoshop.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandmother became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1986. Then followed by my parents since 1988. My parents became inactive but my grandmother referred me to the missionaries. I became a member of the church on March 1998. When I reached my teenage years I became inactive. Other things became my priority. I was engage in Catholic practice since I'm in a Catholic School at college. I do a lot of things. I became busy with school. I enjoyed myself in extra curricular activities. Then there was a time when I felt that there's something missing in my life. I thought I was happy with my achievements. Then one day I just felt that I need to go back in the church when I once became happy when I was little. I saw my Book of Mormon given to me by the missionaries who thought me about the gospel. I started to read it. Then I decided to go to church the next Sunday. The moment I took my seat in the sacrament hall, I just felt the spirit and I feel like crying. It's like someone's saying "Welcome back home." I knew it was Heavenly Father, and I knew I was home again. Even though they didn't recognize me, I was so touched with their warm welcome. From that day, first Sunday of August, 2011, I was reactivated. I study and read the scriptures to be familiarize again. I engaged myself in every activity in the church. I've never felt so happy being in the church again. Then the time came that I felt the desire to serve a mission, but my parents disapproved. I understand. They are not living the faith anymore. They told me to find a job to help my family. I also thought of their welfare because I love them. My mother died on 22nd of July 2013. Then 2014 came, because of the great desire I always felt I decided to file my application to serve a full-time mission. My father approved my decision this time and I felt so happy. I am grateful that Heavenly Father helped me find my way back to Him. I know that this is my purpose in life.

How I live my faith

I am a Sunday School teacher for children ages 3-11 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love to teach kids and tell them stories from the scriptures and church history. Sometimes, I help in other organization in the church when they have cultural activities like singing, acting and dancing presentations. I participate in home teaching, visiting teaching and missionary work if time permits. I also had the privilege to become a full-time missionary in Cebu, Philippines to preach the gospel and invite others to come unto Christ.
