Hi I'm Sophia

I am from Idaho. I'm fourth out of five kids, and I am serving a mission! I'm serving on Temple Square in Utah. I love it!!

About Me

I love my wonderful family! I am serving a mission currently and love it! My favorite book is the Book of Mormon. It's crazy that a book can change your life completely. I grew up in Idaho, but lived in Indiana for my high school years. Nobody knows this, but there's actually not a lot of potatoes where I'm from. After my mission, I'm going to study to become an engineer. I would love to fly airplanes... and travel the world... and have a family of my own. I like sports, programming, and the drums. I want to learn new things. I don't ever want to stop learning, stop progressing or stop serving. My plan is to be the coolest grandma on the planet someday!

Why I am a Mormon

My two wonderful parents raised me in this church, and I love it! There is always more to learn, more to do, and more to experience. Some people think that living this religion is restricting, but how wrong they are! Jesus Christ wants me to be able to have a good life! Everything we learn in church helps us to be better and to live better. I know that I have so much potential and won't stop trying to make it a reality. Yeah, life is hard sometimes, but the main reason that I live this faith is because I am so grateful to my Savior and want to be changed by his grace. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church on earth today. We can know that this is true and that we are loved immensely if we follow Christ's instructions. I know that this is true because that's what I did!

How I live my faith

There are many ways to be a part of this faith, but currently I'm a missionary! This is no easy or small task and I daily have to use the atonement in order to become better. Being a missionary full-time means that I don't have a paid job or go to school for a year and a half, but it is a lot of work and I love it! It is one of the most challenging and most rewarding things that I have ever done, but I guess that just goes for the church in general. This is a religion built on work. No matter what you do, make sure that you are working because that is how you grow. That is how you can be happy! There is no satisfactory substitute.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

If we want to know if something is true or not, test it out. Faith comes through action. It may be hard to take a step into the dark, but the closer you come to the light, the easier it will be to see. Faith is not any more complicated than searching for answers through prayer and study. The point is that we desire to know and act on that desire. Show more Show less
