Hi I'm Mark Ockey

I was born and raised in Utah. I now live in Kansas. I enjoy spending time with my family and working with technology.

About Me

A native of Utah, I served a mission in Spokane Washington. After completing my mission, I attended Weber State University in Ogden and received a Bachelor's degree in Tech Sales. I found the woman of my dreams and got married, and we have 3 wonderful children. I completed a Masters degreein Information Technology and I am now working as a system administrator. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my kids grow up. I also enjoy learning new technology and helping people understand how to effectively use technology to accomplish their goals.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not sure how to describe it other than to say that for me, the Gospel of Jesus Christ has always felt "right." Countless times in my life, I have felt a natural yearning to do what is right. I have felt that through many of my toughest trials in life, the Savior has been a pilot carefully and patiently guiding me through them. Clearly the Lord knows our potential better than we do. I know that when I have prayed -- even silently in my mind, the Lord answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

I serve in my ward as a Primary pianist. It's enjoyable because I get more opportunities to see my kids grow and progress in the Gospel. I am also serving as a ward missionary. It is a great way to learn new things, meet new people, and build my talents.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Mark Ockey
Although I was raised in the church, I believe everyone must at some point gain their own testimony. I decided I wanted to ask Heavenly Father if the church was true, and I got a very strong feeling of peace and joy in my heart and in my mind that "of course I know its true!" I know that each person can find out for themselves by following the advice of James and Moroni and ask Heavenly Father in prayer. Show more Show less
