Hi I'm Meranda Ann Bowen

I grew up in Farmington Utah, I am a competitive tennis player, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Meranda. I am a avid tennis player and a tennis coach. I am a student at the University of Utah studying Marketing or Business Management. I love sports! I like watching and playing pretty much any sport. I love boating, scuba diving, and camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is Jesus Christ's church that has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith once again upon the earth. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and I know through the power of the Holy Ghost that it is the word of God. It is another testament of our Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ. I have a warm good feeling that is calm and peaceful every time I read the Book of Mormon. This is the spirit that testifies to me that it is true. I know that I'm a spirit child of my Heavenly Father who loves and knows me. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who Atoned for the sins of the world. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven of my transgressions and become like my Heavenly Father and return to live with Him someday. I know that I can live with my family for eternity through the Atonement and grace of God. I know that I can be with those I love who have passed on again. I know that through the promptings and impressions of the Holy Ghost, I can receive personal direction and answers to my prayers. This gospel has blessed my life and it is what makes me happy. I know that God lives.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Sacramento California speaking Spanish. I love giving service and working with my peers to organize activities for the youth. I also love the opportunities provided to serve in the community. Every Christmas I participate in an event where all the church members gather clothing, books, toys, shoes, food, and other essentials to give to those who are less fortunate. We have a member escort a family around and help them get different items that they're family is in need of and then also feed them lunch and help them transport their things to their cars or the bus. I have also had the opportunity to help African refugees by building bookcases for them and gathering those things that they would need and taking it to their homes.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Meranda Ann Bowen
We believe that we are spirit children of our Heavenly Father and that we lived with Him before our birth. We believe that we are here on earth so that we can progress and learn to have faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We know that Death is not the end. Our spirits are separated from our body when we die but because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ our bodies and spirits will reunite and never separate again. This is called resurrection which is a gift from God to everyone. Show more Show less
