Hi I'm Robert

I grew up in Utah. I'm married with 4 kids. I'm Mormon and have tattoos

About Me

I was born and raised in the church, but, I fell away 14 years ago and never thought I'd be back. I left my family in Utah and moved to Arizona to join a band. I met my wife about a year later and am now a proud Daddy of 4-- three boys and a girl! One of the happiest moments of my life occurred on April 19th of this year when I baptized my wife, and two oldest sons in to the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. I am enjoying reading my scriptures, watching old conference talks, watching videos and "catching up" on the things I had been missing out on these last 14 years. I am a huge AZ Cardinals fan and enjoy watching the games, playing/coaching sports with my boys, and am trying to get a blog started.

Why I am a Mormon

My oldest son was working on his Webelos merit badge and in order to get it he had to visit a cathedral, synagogue or temple. The Gilbert Temple was having their open house at the time, so it was perfect. We took the whole family. I felt overwhelmed by the Holy Ghost as we approached the baptismal font (for the dead)! The feeling was "You need to come back to church!". Coincidently, two days later, missionaries knocked on our door at 8:30 at night. For years I had turned the missionaries away, telling them we were not interested, but for some reason I couldn't shut the door at this time! So I invited them in. They came back again and again and my family and I started taking the discussions. Three weeks later we were going to church. All 6 of us! 2 1/2 months later I was able to baptize my wife and two of my sons! We were a good family before, but our lives have all changed so much! I'm so thankful that because of the atonement of Jesus Christ we can ask for forgiveness and repent. I feel peace and strength knowing that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and my family and that we are doing the right thing. I love this church with all my heart. It is the true Church of Jesus Christ. #therealtattooedmormon

How I live my faith

My wife and I were recently called to be Cub Scout leaders. We are excited to get to hang out with our own two sons who are in Scouts as well as all the other really cool kids. I help coach my 8 year old son's Little League team, and often get the neighborhood kids together for a game of football or baseball. My ward has a sports night once a week that I make it to whenever possible and I've recently started hometeaching. My family and I love attending community/church events. It is so nice to get out and interact with friends from church. We are really enjoying getting to know everyone in our ward and building new friendships. We still have the missionaries come over (for dinner or just to visit) at least once a week. We will always have a special place in our hearts for them.
