Hi I'm Celine

Hi! I was born in the United states. I'm currently going to Brigham Young University-Idaho in the fall to major in Engineering.

About Me

I love music, especially singing. Mostly I'm your average nerd; I like to read book, and work hard at school. I also enjoy running, biking, and generally having fun with my friends. Right now I'm a senior in High School but I go to a college campus through a program my High School offers called PSEO.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but that’s not why I’m a mormon. One of my earliest memorizes really loving the gospel is when I felt the love of the people in my young women's group. When I was twelve I came into young womens nervously but immediately the other girls there surrounded me with their love. You have to imagine what that ment to a insecure twelve year old girl. My testimony grew on a combination of many simple yet profound experiences. There is a women in my ward who I deeply respect. When I was twelve years old she told the young women to start journaling every day. I decided I would write in my journal just because she told me to. Soon after this I has recurring thoughts that suggested that I should read the Book of Mormon too. I started to read only1/2 a page a day, and immediately I felt a wave of warmth wash over me. The feeling is pure, vibrant, and to me it was the feeling that God loves me. Previous to this occasion, for months I had been going through what I call “teenage depression” or “teenage identity crisis”. The cure to my depression was reading the Book of Mormon. Immediately I felt happiness. I started to see a flow of blessings. I continued because when I read it I felt happy. I also started to realize within myself that God does not see me the way I see myself. As my study of the Book of Mormon deepened the more I understood about myself, that I am a daughter of God with an infinite potential through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that I am who I am today because I followed a simple prompting to read the Book of Mormon. Just read a verse, because I promise you that if you read the Book of Mormon with real intent then you will feel God’s love for you, and you will be happy. If you are already happy that you will feel even more happy. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christ’s restored church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel! In my ward I'm a laurel in our youth group (Laurels are girls who are 16-18 years old). I am the chorister for sacrament meeting at my ward, which means I conduct the music. I love it because I get to participate in sacrament meeting in a real way. I also have a calling as the ward's youth stake representative. That's a ton of fun, because I have amazing adult leaders, and I get to learn how to serve people in an important way.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Good question! The official name of the 'Mormon' church is; The Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. We believe that this is Jesus Christ restored church on the earth today. Jesus Christ is the center of our religion, and every thing we do as a church is centered on Jesus Christ. Gods purpose in Moses 1:39 outlines "For behold this is my work, and my glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of men." Jesus made immortality in the next life possible by His resurrection, and gave us the opportunity to have Eternal life through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We believe that men must use the Atonement in their life in order to gain Eternal life. This church teaches how we can apply the Atonement into our life. For those reasons we are Christians, and we worship Christ. Joseph Smith is the Prophet who restored Christ Church on the Earth. Show more Show less
