Hi I'm Wil

I love to sing. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was in the marching band during Jr. High & Senior High School for five years. I played the bass drum, crash cymbals, & I was a color guard my Senior year. Ah, the memories! Our motto was: "I love my band, & my band loves me!" During my spare time, I enjoy writing in my journal. I am beginning to love to write now. Writing is such a beautiful gift from God. When I write down precious memories in my Journal, I feel the Spirit in ways that I cannot explain. I also love attending Church, & singing with my family & friends as a congregation. My favorite Sunday has to be Fast Sunday. The testimonies that I hear from my Family really touch me & I am strengthened by the things that they say. I have a younger sister, & we both were raised by our mother. She took care of us all by herself. The older I got, the more I appreciated life, & all that my mom has done for my sister & me. She has taught me how to be a very understanding individual. I thank God for her. I am glad that He chose her to be my mom. I can say that she did a marvelous job raising her two children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert. I was baptized when I was 21 years old. I have met with missionaries in the past, I was so close to getting baptized, but I was not ready at the time because there were some things in my life that I wasn't willing to give up in order to take upon myself the name of Jesus Christ. I am glad that I did not join the Church so soon. I needed time to grow & learn. I needed to find myself. Years later, after I had fallen away from the Gospel & turned away the missionaries, on the first Sunday of August, I decided to give up the things in my life that was pulling me down to darkness. I wanted to change, but I just didn't know how to change, all I could do was kneel down & pray to God for guidance. Then later that evening, I opened up my bible. & when I opened up my bible it read: "This Holy Bible is a gift from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." It is amazing how God works! One sentence changed my life. Ever since that day, I have been very active in the Church, the Missionaries are like my Family, they've taught me a lot, & now I know the true meaning of the Atonement of Jesus Christ & how His sacrifice can save us. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God, & it was written for us in these latter days. I know that Jesus Christ restored His Gospel on the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I testify that God lives & Jesus Christ is His Only Begotten Son, the Savior & Redeemer of the world. The Lord loves all of us, & He is willing to help us in our trials if we let Him. I testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's Kingdom on the Earth, & it is the only true & living Church on the Earth today. If you are an investigator, I strongly encourage you to pray & ask God, in the name of Jesus Christ, if these things are true. I promise that if you ask in faith, He will manifest the Truth unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. I testify in the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Branch Missionary in the Church. It is my first calling. I read my scriptures, & spend time with the full-time Missionaries. I do my best to inspire others come closer to Christ & to accept His atonement. I also live my Faith by praying to my Heavenly Father for the strength to endure my trials that I face each day. The more I obey His commandments, the easier it gets to follow Him.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Wil
You can know & gain a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true Church, as well as the Book of Mormon & other scriptures, by reading the scriptures, & earnestly praying to your Father in Heaven, & ask Him in the name of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ if these things are so. I have felt the Holy Ghost's influence numerous times in my life when I asked God if the Book of Mormon was true. The Book of Mormon is the most correct Book than any other Book, & I know that it contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Wil
The Priesthood is the power & authority to act in the name of God. All men everywhere must hold the Priesthood, or they can in no wise act in the name of God. The same Priesthood that Jesus Christ gave to His apostles has been restored back on the earth. You can know for a surety that Heavenly Father's authority has been restored on the earth by praying to our Heavenly Father, read the scriptures, & attend Church meetings. The scriptures tell us to "ask & it shall be given you; seek, & ye shall find; knock, & it shall be opened unto you." I know that Heavenly Father is the Author of all knowledge, power, wisdom, authority, love, righteousness, & all things which are good. He is the same yesterday, today, & forever. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Wil
NO! We do not worship Joseph Smith whatsoever. We worship God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ. We recognize all of the wonderful miracles that the Lord has done by restoring His Gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith in the 1800s. We are grateful that Joseph Smith was chosen by the hand of Lord to proclaim and reestablish those Gospel truths and sacred ordinances which are essential to the salvation of all mankind. We acknowledge that through Joseph Smith, the power and authority to act in the name of God was restored, which is the Priesthood. We are grateful that through Joseph Smith, the Lord brought forth the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is a powerful witness of the plan of salvation, apostasy, the Atonement of Christ, the restoration of the Gospel and the lost Tribes of Israel, and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon by power of God.
