Hi I'm Ben DeLaMare

I'm a scuba diver. I love the Philippines. I'm restaurant manager. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

The first thing you need to know about me is that I don't like talking about only me, because I love to hear about the adventures everyone else experiences! However, I guess it's my turn right now. I love to wake up to a new adventure everyday; whether it be in another country, in my own bed, or on top of a mountain, I just love to figure out what needs to happen next. I live and breath culture and diversity. Additionally, I love the sun and being on the beach playing in it. Dogs are my passion and are such a relief from the busy world. Finally, I love to end my day with a nice bowl of ice cream with my friends, family, or anyone that loves it as much as I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in this church my whole life and I am grateful for the guidance it's given my family and I. I have been able to see saints of my religion all over the world, but mostly in the Philippines as I lived there for three years with my parents. I truly believe in what missionaries preach everyday and I'm grateful that I can be a missionary in just 2 months from today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the truest book on earth and that anyone can understand of its truthfulness too if they take the time to search, ponder, and pray about it. I know that we have modern Prophets, Seers, and Revelators on earth today that guide us with the words of the Lord. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and that he died and atoned for our sins. I am not a member, because I was raised around it, but because I know for a fact that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best as a Mormon to be a friend to everyone I meet and know. I know that our Heavenly Father would be the same way, so I strive to be like Him. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Florida and I go out and teach with the missionaries as much as possible. I am able to teach youth of my same age group every once in a while and it is very enlightening to be able to grow closer with them each week. Going to church has made me gain new friendships with people I probably would have never talked to at school previously. After attending youth activities I have achieved many goals both spiritually and temporally. At the end of the day, I am grateful to come home to a family that loves me and cares about me. I love that I can kneel and pray to my Heavenly Father whenever I am down and I get instant comfort. My faith is what guides me throughout my life and I am and will eternally be grateful for it.
