Hi I'm Burton Smith

I grew up as Army Brat. I like to jog my dogs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a Waste water plant operator. I feel that how humans are polluting the environment is the most serious issue of our time. My wife and I are interested in the preservation of humingbirds in the Americas. I like to read books on history.

Why I am a Mormon

My family in the early part of my life traveled many places. We went to many protestant faiths. It was disappointing to find a church of the same name in two different areas that didn't believe the same thing. One of the things that attracted myself and family to the Latter Day Saint faith was that a person can go anywhere in the world, and the same Gospel is taught. Another great truth taught in the Book of Mormon is that little children have no need to be baptized, as they are saved by the Sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Babies, infants, toddlers are unable to comprehend right and wrong, therefore cannot sin. Modern day revelation is a core principle of the Latter Day Saint faith. I love the principle that God communicated to His people anciently, at the earthly time of Jesus, and that He communicates with His followers in this day through a Modern Prophet.

How I live my faith

My wife and I were active in the last election working at our local precinct. I am a teacher in our adult men group and missionary in our ward. I also go out and visit ward members with another male member.
