Hi I'm Allyson

I'm a wife, Speech Language Pathologist, and soon-to-be mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Speech Language Pathologist that loves helping people improve their lives and relationships through communication. I've attended three Universities to earn Associates, Bachelors, and Masters Degrees. One of my greatest accomplishments in life has been marrying and being sealed to a wonderful man in the temple for time and eternity. We are expecting our first child into our family and we couldn't be more thrilled. I love music through singing and playing the piano or flute. I also love to be crafty and enjoy improving our home with beautiful things that I've made or designed. I enjoy theater, gardening, and dreaming about traveling to distant lands in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the most happy and receive the most joy in life when I am following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I want to know as much truth as I can about His gospel and follow prophets and apostles who receive revelation for His church. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints- or the Mormons- is the organization on the earth that teaches the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and within its leaders are men and women called of God to direct His church and teach His word. I have come to know that the prophets and apostles in this church are men who have the authority to act in the name of God through the priesthood. This priesthood power has blessed my life and my family with safety, health, guidance and strength. I have had to study the doctrine that this church teaches, and take leaps of faith by acting on its teachings in order to know that it is true. Practicing communicating through God in prayer has been key in strengthening my testimony and witness that He loves me and that this is His true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I have choices to make on this earth and by living my faith I find I gain a greater insight into who am I and who God wants me to become as one of His daughters. I strive to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and the commandments that He has given to ancient and living prophets. By doing so I am able to invite the Holy Ghost as a companion in my life. With Him I am able to obtain revelation for my personal life through sincere prayer, studying scriptures, and pondering. This revelation helps me to become a better wife, mother, friend and teacher. I strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ, and I formally serve in my community ward as a teacher to young women ages 14-15. We have formal doctrine-based lessons on Sundays, but also have uplifting and wholesome activities together during the week. These young women are strengthened as they act upon the teachings they learn and become leaders and good examples in their schools and neighborhoods. This is increasingly necessary as the values of society become more degrading and harmful.
