Hi I'm Clay

I eat pizza, I share the gospel, I am a missionary in Rome, Italy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Clay!! I live in the beautiful mountains of Southern Utah in a tiny town of 500 people. I wrestled, ran track, cross country, and played baseball in high school, and I love being with my friends and just hanging out. I have two dogs, and I loved riding horses when we have them. I hunt deer when I get a tag, and I love being in the outdoors, especially if it involves backpacking. My favorite show for a very long time was Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls--he is still the bomb. I was the lead in a play this year, and I love to sing. I have been in a private show choir for three years. I try to share my talent the best that I can, so yes, I guess I'm a choir boy. I am just finishing high school; I plan to attend BYU or UVU in 2 years, and I absolutely love learning! I love planes and want to become a pilot one day and help others along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has made me such a happier and better person! I can wake up everyday and shout for joy, because I know who I am, where I came from, where I am going, and how I am going to get there. I have always been a member of the church. I never knew if it was true or not. I trusted my parents judgement, and I followed their amazing examples for years. When I was done with my 9th grade year and the summer began, I really began to wonder if I could know the church was true. I picked up the Book of Mormon that was given to me when I was baptized, and I read the cover page with a true, pure desire to know if the church was true. As I read, I felt the burning of my heart, and I just burst into tears and kept reading through the blur. I knew the church was true--and I could not deny it--I continued to read the Book of Mormon through the summer; I continue in the knowledge I have been given. I know Jesus is the Christ, God is our loving heavenly father and he knows us individually, Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God that restored the true Gospel and priesthood back to the earth, and the Book of Mormon is the word of God as is the Bible. I know these things to be true. I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary for the church. I love what I am doing and the people I have met. My mission will last 2 years of nothing, but service and preaching His Gospel. The Gospel means so much to me, and I have seen and felt why it is true time and time again. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and know that his Atonement is eternal and simple. Christ is the only way back to our Heavenly Father. The tomb is empty. He is not there. Come follow him!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Mormons believe that grace is the divine help of God. The grace of God is in our lives everyday. It helps us when we can't go on, it drives us forward when we want to give up, God is always there helping us to eternity, even when we don't know it or necessarily want his help. Through God's grace (divine help) we may be saved. Show more Show less
