Hi I'm Benjamin Byrom

I am a young man, serving two years in the Alpine German Speaking Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a missionary who is serving in the Alpine German Speaking mission,I began my mission July 31st 2014 and will be returning back home in two years. I studied English Language, Media, Maths and Physics at College. I have been raised up in a wonderful family where I have three siblings and awesome faithful parents. I love creating films, even though they may be short and very basic, it lets me show my full self. I also play guitar, it is another way for me to express who I am. I am a very sociable person where I just love talking to everyone, I can just talk hours with friends and have the best time. By having a childhood of being 'the victim' at school, where everyone thinks they can just pick on me, it has honestly been the biggest learning experience of my life. Yes it was tough but I really learnt how to love others, where I would just forgive all these people who would make my childhood a nighmare and just move on from it. But now from that, I have also developed a greater love for those people who have experienced the same hardships as myself and I want to be that friend for them. As I am now serving a mission, the two skills I have developed of being able to love and being sociable has allowed me to be a tool for the Lords hands as I invite people to come unto him.

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer I could give is because I was born into the church, but that is not enough. I know plenty of people who I have been well acquainted with and they have completely fallen away from the church even though they were 'born into it'. The real answer for myself is because I know its true, without a shadow of a doubt I know it is. I have read the Book of Mormon and I put it to the test and prayed to know if its true, and oh boy it is! Although I know the church is true, that doesn't mean I am perfect, I am from far that. But its my most inner desire to try to be, and I know the only I can do that is to try live my the Saviors example. And when I fall short, I apply the greatest gift we have ever received, which is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Only by through his atoning sacrifice can we be made whole. People in school and other places have come up and asked me on why I am so different, and how they can have the same thing. The only answer I can give them is, become a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a way the Lord my Savior would want me to. Where I do my very best in order to make him proud of me, as well as me being proud of myself. Growing up in a world where life is getting harder and harder, a world where temptations are hunting you instead of you looking for them. Its almost impossible to not be influenced by what it brings to you. However I know that by living to the standards which I have been given to PROTECT me, not to RESTRICT me, I have found greater joy. like what Rocky once said 'it aint how hard you can hit, its about how hard you can get hit! and keep moving forward, how much you can take, and keep moving forward'. I know this to be a true life phrase, where we are not strong enough to defeat the influence of the world. But we are strong enough to move on and keep pressing forward.
