Hi I'm Hannah

I am a college student. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student pursuing a degree in English teaching. I hope to teach English in a high school setting and help my students develop a deep love for literature. I love to run and I love to eat. I think I love to run because I love to eat so much. I love brownies, with a side of brownies, sprinkled with brownies. I have one little brother, and my mom, dad, Zach, and I are a very close family. We like to hike, travel, and watch movies together. I was born into the LDS church as both of my parents have been members their entire lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I think that when people hear about someone like me--being born into the Mormon church, having an entirely Mormon family, and living in a community with so many Mormons--they think, "Oh, well she's a Mormon just because she has to be." That is not true. I think that my family and community support helped me along my conversion process, but it certainly did not solidify it. I have fought through the doubts and the fear, the uncertainty, and the questions for myself. I have studied the Book of Mormon, I have prayed diligently and fasted, and I have come to know for myself that this church is true. "True", meaning the "true" way to happiness. I know that the things that this church teaches are GOOD. They are the way to lasting happiness. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I have felt His arms around me time and time again. I know that it is through Him that I can be happy. I have the opportunity to improve and progress throughout life because of Him and His atoning sacrifice. I am a Mormon because I want to be better each and everyday. There is only one way that that is made possible and it is through Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I have felt my Heavenly Father's love for me when I can't feel anyone else's love. I know that I am never alone because of Him. I am a Mormon because of the Holy Ghost's impact on my life. I would not be attending the school that I attend right now, or working at the place I am working right now, or be friends with the friends I have right now if it weren't for the Holy Ghost. He has lead me exactly where I need to be. I am a Mormon because I can't get through life without my God and my Father. The peace and reassurance He brings me each time I pray to Him is the reason I live. I am a Mormon because this church brings me more happiness than anything else this world offers.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am living my faith by being an active member of my local congregation. I attend church weekly and visit with different women in my congregation at least once a month as I fulfill my calling to be a "visiting teacher". I try each and everyday to be a bit better than I was the day before. I am a firm believer in improvement and progression. I know with all my heart that because my Savior Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and overcame death, I can become a better person. I have personally utilized the Atonement and strive to do so each day. I try daily to be a better friend, daughter, sister, and disciple of Christ. I work daily to know my Savior better, to develop a stronger relationship with Him. As a member of His church, I strive to learn as much as I can of Him and His doctrine. I hope to represent Him well and to let my testimony shine. I love my Heavenly Father and pray to Him always for strength, kindness, and the power to endure whatever tests and trials come my way. I strive to be happy, to let the love I feel from the Lord shine through my eyes; I strive to be kind, to let the happiness I feel from the Lord radiate from my words and actions; I strive to be better everyday, to let the confidence I feel from the Lord transform me into the woman God created me to be. Truly, I live my faith as I strive to align my life with what God wants.
