Hi I'm Kayla Womack

I am a student in University. I love my family. I'm from California and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors; I love to hike, run, play frisbee, and overall nature. I love animals. I love to study the sciences, learning, travelling, reading, and especially music. I am classically trained in violin and piano. I love my family and now my nephew and soon to be niece.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was eight years old. My parents both joined the Church when they were in their twenties, were married and sealed in the Los Angeles temple and raised my siblings and me in the gospel. Throughout my life, I have been able to see the blessings of the gospel especially as I learned of a used the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have seen the gospel of Jesus Christ, the teachings of the Church, change my life for the better to be more happy and the lives of others as well.

How I live my faith

I served a Church volunteer mission in Toronto, Canada for eighteen months. My conversion and following Jesus Christ is all about action. I cannot sit in church on Sundays for a couple hours and then live the rest of my week doing nothing about what I learned. In order to express my devotion and faith, I love to serve others and the Lord! I have been able to see my faith increase especially as I read the Book of Mormon and the New Testament. Both are witnesses of Jesus Christ and through the scriptures, we can learn more of Christ and Heavenly Father.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kayla Womack
Missionaries go and teach the gospel to others in order to share the truth and happiness that they have in their own life. Like in Plato's Allegory of the Cave where these men are kept in a cave and shown nothing but shadow puppets their whole lives and finally one goes outside and sees that the puppets are only a reflection of what he knows. He sees the world so bright and beautiful and goes back to retrieve the others to have them experience the same. Missionaries want to show others the gospel and the brightness and beauty that it brings to those who learn of its truth. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Kayla Womack
We have the Bible because of the prophets who were called of God and given authority by Him. These prophets wrote down the spiritual knowledge in which God directed them to so that we could have it as guidance in our lives. However, the key to that statement is that we had prophets to write these things. Luckily, we have prophets today as well! They speak to us, guide us, and help us in the way in which Heavenly Father directs. We need a Restoration of the gospel since the authority in which the prophets had, the same authority held by Jesus Christ, to act in God's name was no longer on the Earth after Christ asended into heaven and His apostles were persecuted and eventually all died without passing on the authority to anyone else. The church the Jesus Christ established in its perfect order fell apart because of the lack of authority to do anything according to the way in which Christ directed us. Show more Show less
