Hi I'm Cassidy

I am from Dallas, Texas! I am a Missionary in the Great Ohio Columbus Mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm am a student, at Brigham Young University, studying Family Therapy ! I love to sing and dance, and I'm pretty much always doing one or the other! Being on stage and preforming for other people is one of my favorite things! I am serving a mission in Columbus Ohio from June 2014-December 2015!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church that Jesus Christ established while he was on the earth, is back on the earth today- in its fullness! The Book of Mormon is the convincing evidence that Jesus is the Christ, and that God is our loving Heavenly Father. He knows us personally, and perfectly. He sent his Son to save us from our sins, to free us from all our guilt, and to die so that we could live with God forever after this life. I know that God lives, and that he listens to our prayers. I know this because he has answered mine! And because of his answers I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints is Jesus Christs' Church upon the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. This comes more easily as I read my scriptures, and pray for Heavenly Fathers spirit to guide me. Serving an eighteen month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me the opportunity to "live my faith" every moment of every day, as I am constantly meeting others that I am able to help and serve.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is one of the most imporant things. In our families we have trials, and hardships, but we also feel great joy and love. We can feel a small glimpse of what our Heavenly Father feels for us. We know from Prophets that the family unit is central to Gods plan for our happiness. And when families are centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ they are sucessful, and happy! Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

"Mormon" was a nick name given to the members of our Church, because we believe in and study the Book of Mormon as the word of God. We believe that the Bible and the Book of Mormon go hand in hand, and that the Book of Mormon is another testament that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the World. The official name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

There are over 140 temples around the world. Every person is welcome on temple grounds to feel of the peace that abides there. However, to enter into the temple it is important to be quilaified and prepared for the ordianances that are preformed. That is why only Members of the church are allowed in. There is nothing secret about the work done in Temples. In them we learn Eternal Truths about the Nature of our Heavenly Father. We recieve sacred ordiances that united families together forever. And ordinances, such as baptism, for those who have passed away without the opportunity to recieve the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every person is welcome in the temple if they are qualified and prepared! Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Husband and wife can be together forever- even after this life! Death does not break families apart. When Jesus Christ was on the earth he gave power to his Apostles to seal families together forever. When a family or a marriage is sealed in the temple it is bounded together eternally. We believe that families are extremely important to God, and that he intends for all of us to be with our families forever. Show more Show less
