Hi I'm Briana

I live in Utah. I've been called to serve in the Kobe Japan mission. I play lacrosse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play lacrosse. I love sports. I go to BYU. I am preparing to serve a mission in Kobe, Japan. I love this gospel. I have a fantastic family who is all active in the church and I am grateful for them everyday. I am super excited to be able to serve the Lord in Japan. I am extremely grateful for the blessings I have received in my life and I want to share what I've learned about the gospel with others. I love missionary work.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because following in this faith makes me feel good. Through this gospel I have learned that I have a purpose. I have learned that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and wants me to succeed. I have learned that he gives me trials as ways that I can improve myself. It reminds that there is light in the world and that I should strive to obtain it. I can truly say that I have a relationship with God and that he knows my desires. I'm a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I know that one day I'll be able to return to him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church and personally reading and studying the scriptures. I have realized that I learn by watching other peoples examples, so I have tried myself to remember that people are always watching and I try to do the right thing. I love learning and have gained a greater understanding of life through studying the gospel. One thing I have learned recently is that studying is going to be as exciting as I make it be. When I am actively searching the scriptures and trying to find answers to my questions, I can find the answers. When I am just reading the scriptures to 'mark it off my list', I don't get anything out of it. Another way I live my faith is by doing what I love. I believe our Heavenly Father sent us to this earth with our different talents. When I use my talents its a way that I express my gratitude to my Father in Heaven. I thank him everyday for the blessing that I have of being active.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Briana
The reason I chose to serve a mission was because I wanted to gain an eternal perspective. There had been lots of instances in my life that put me on that path, but the final reason was because I knew that I didn't have an eternal perspective and I wanted one. It took me a while to realize. I thought I was doing fine. I felt fine. At least most of the time. I went to church on Sunday, I read the scriptures every day, and I prayed every night. I thought I was on track. Slowly I came to realize I was just going through the motions. I was just living my life. I put all my attention to sports and school. In that order. Sports became where my heart was focused. I realized the course I was on and prayed to find out what I could do to put my focus on Christ. Serving a mission was the answer I got. I finished serving a mission in Japan almost one year ago. I can honestly say it is the best decision I've made in my life so far. It has impacted me more than I can imagine and I miss it more than I ever thought I would. Sharing the gospel makes me happy. When I was a missionary teaching, I could never stop smiling. There is something about this doctrine that can brighten anyone's day. I love it more than words can express. Show more Show less
