Hi I'm Jane

I'm a skier and a student. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a sophomore in college majoring in Mathematics. I love to ski and enjoyed watching the recent Winter Olympics. I especially love watching sports with my 95 year old grandpa. I am the youngest of five children, and I love visiting my older siblings around the globe- from Seattle, Washington, to Moscow Russia! I am taking a year and a half off of school in order to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that the church is true. Both of my parents are members, so I grew up in the church. However, both of my parents encouraged me to decide for myself whether or not to stay in the church. I've never been someone who could follow something I didn't believe in. As I've studied the scriptures, prayed, and felt my prayers being answered, I have developed a firm belief in God, the atonement, and modern day revelation. I'm far from perfect, but I know that through Christ, I can become so much more than I am. I love the peace that I have in His gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily through prayer and studying the scriptures. This past semester I was in charge of a group of fifteen college students that met every Monday night for a brief gospel thought and an activity, like pizza making or laser tagging. I loved discussing topics like God and Faith with other students. I also attend church every Sunday, and do my best to serve others. I feel like much of the gospel points towards helping those around us, like Christ did.
