Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a mother of 4 boys. I love music and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is never dull. I always find something to be involved with, constantly staying busy. Currently I work as a medical billing specialist and a piano teacher. In the past I have stayed busy by homeschooling my children, going to school full-time, canning/preserving food from our garden, working on house projects, serving in various positions at church, and a whole host of other things. As soon as my life starts to slow down a little, I tend to find something else to fill my time. Although I am constantly involved in one thing or another, my biggest priority is focusing on fulfilling my calling in life as a wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel brings me guidance. Without the gospel and the hope that comes from knowing there is more than just this earthly life, I would not have direction in my life. It would be too easy to give up and stop trying so hard. It would be so easy to stop trying to teach my children values and morals and just let them do what they want. Because of the gospel, however, I know that life continues on after death. I know that the blessings we will receive if we live the commandments and try our best to live close to the Lord will be so worth it in the eternities. I know that we can be with our families forever. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and that he atoned for us. He is the Redeemer and he has suffered for me. When I am going through hard times or when I'm depressed, I know that he understands. I am so grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that I have.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am serving as the Cubmaster and Committee Chair for our Cub Scout pack, which is part of the Boy Scouts of America. This involves making sure the pack is running smoothly and all of the individual dens have everything they need. I also try to make sure all of the leaders are trained properly and know how to fulfill their duties. I hold a monthly committee meeting where all of the leaders get together and plan our monthly pack meeting. I am responsible for the monthly pack meeting where all of the dens get together and do enriching activities and are presented all of the awards and badges they have earned that month. Pack meetings can be a lot of fun! The cub scouts have participated in the pinewood derby and blue and gold banquet. We have had guests come from the humane society and the police canine unit, bringing their animals with them for the boys to meet. We have had a former pilot come speak to them. All of these activities help them to learn and grow!
