Hi I'm Karen

I love fishing, camping, and quilting, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Summer -- I love to fish, but only in a boat, and on a fresh water lake. I've caught a 37 pound lake trout and loved every minute of it. I love to be outdoors, in the mountains, by a lake, with a campfire going, and watching the stars. Now the other side of me, Winter --- Sewing is my indoor hobby, and I learned at a young age how fun quilting could be. There's nothing better than sitting and working on a quilt, and getting to talk to your best friends about everything and anything while you do it! I'm a wife of 43 years - married to the best man on earth, a Mom of 3, and a Grandma to four of the sweetest girls on the planet and my family means everything to me!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that my Savior lives. I feel close to him as I attend church and as I serve others. I love to read the scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and learn more about our Savior. Every time I read I find something new that helps me to understand His gospel better. Prayer is my "life line to Heaven". In times of trial it has been a great comfort to know that I can pray and I'll be heard. Making covenants (promises) to the Lord that I will keep His commandments has also brought me closer to Him. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me great happiness, and I know that I and my family can return and live with Him someday, and that's why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of Christ like love to all I meet, with a smile on my face. Serving in our church has been a wonderful blessing for me. I love to sing with children - songs about our Savior's love for them. I love to work with youth at summer campouts. Teaching first aid, and cooking skills to teenage girls. During my service in the Boy Scouts of America, 11 boys received their Eagle Scout Award. These young men will grow to be good citizens in our country. As I serve I feel my Saviors love for me. Its important to me to help youth and children feel that He loves them too.
