Hi I'm Amanda Merrell

I love doing anything creative, artsy, hands on projects and I love learning about things I know nothing about and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Graduated from South Kitsap High School, a HUGE school in Washington where I learned how to stay apart from some of the "latest trends" and I could only have gotten through unscathed by living a life of Standards. I am Currently Serving a mission in Cincinnati Ohio. I have learned so much on my so far year adventure and I will never regret growing up in the church or serving a mission. This church has changed how I was taught as a child, how I am now and how I will live for the rest of my life! IT IS SO GOOD!!! It is the best thing I have ever experienced in my whole life! I have through study and prayer and lots of pondering come to know of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon which has brought me closer to my father in heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but it wasn't until I was older that I found why I live the gospel for myself and I found that it was true. I love living the gospel because it protects me from things that could be potentially harmful to me. I love Heavenly Father and all my Brothers and Sisters all around the world. I wasn't planning on serving a mission but now I know and have been able to see that this was the best choice for me and there isn't any other place I would rather be! I believe in this gospel and all its teachings. The book of Mormon is my life line, the Holy Ghost my Guide, and my Savior my Liberator. I love my life and the plan of salvation. I know that I can be with my family again, and I plan to endure to the end no matter what happens in this life.

How I live my faith

I have always talked about my religion freely with my friends and always love sharing my beliefs and answering any questions they have. I always try to look at people and love them immediately, as Christ would, because one thing that I can say about everyone on this Earth is that they are all children of God. even when people are not the friendliest towards me I know that they have a reason they are they way they are and I know they have loving parents as do I. I strive to act as Christ would if he were here on this earth, say the things he would, think the things he would and do the things he would. I fully believe that the world gets better one person at a time. Something that helps me to remember Christ is by reading the Book of Mormon every day! I try to read from it 10 minuets a day so that I can be more in tune with the Holy Spirit that leads and guides me to choose the right! Right now I am a Missionary and I go and Teach people about how they can come closer to Christ by Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End.

What is being a Mormon like?

Amanda Merrell
Being a Mormon is Awesome. I'll admit sometimes it can be hard but it is so worth it. Being Mormon is something that people notice, but in a good way. You will often get questions from others. A lot of times my friends notice that I don't join in the crowd. (ex: wearing modest clothing, not drinking coffee, not swearing) sometimes its just some person that I didn't know before and sometimes its your best friend. I seem to end up always making an impression on others even if I don't remember talking to them very much. All in all, I love that it helps me to be happy and feel comfort through my trials and I love helping others with anything I can help them with. I love being Mormon. Show more Show less
