Hi I'm Dane

I love my family and sports. Going on a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love school and sports. I'm graduating valedictorian and a member of many clubs. I play football and throw shot put and discus. I got my duty to God award and am an Eagle Scout. I'm a future missionary. I'm going to college, marrying in the temple, having a family, and becoming a physicist.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents have been life long members so I have been raised in the church. I was baptized when I was eight years old and received the Aaronic priesthood when I was twelve years old. Every day I read the book of Mormon and I pray to my Heavenly Father and every day the Holy Ghost tells me what I know and do are true and strengthens my testimony.

How I live my faith

I'm active in my community. I do many service projects for Boy Scouts and Church. I visit people of my community and church with my dad and visit them. I visit elderly and disabled members of the church. I've been a leader of the young men in my ward and am a teacher to a class of six and seven year olds.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

The Lord has said that men are to hold the priesthood. That is His way. This does not mean that women do not lead our church. Women are very important and sacred to God and he has many important roles for them to fulfill. For example, women have the opportunities to be mothers, to provide mortal bodies for God's spirit children, and to raise them to be good. Women can be a part of the relief society, the largest women's organization in the world. It is women run. While men hold the priesthood, their two main sources of help and advice are God, and their wives. Show more Show less

There are no restrictions on who can join the Church or receive the priesthood based race or color. We have an official declaration of the Church that explains that any worthy man can receive the priesthood. Definitely see the movie "Meet the Mormons." Show more Show less
