Hi I'm Steven Shawn Werber

I am from Las Vegas. I love having adventures, and being creative! I am a musician, a missionary, a student, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Henderson/Las Vegas, Nevada with my younger two sisters and brother before moving to Cedar City, Utah when I was 12. Starting over taught me so much and what was once a shy little confused boy turned into a social young man. I finally had a reason to make something of myself. My love for knowledge is still who I am and I still love to learn and explore; I am passionate about the world I live in! I love learning just about anything, but my favorite interests are computer technology and engineering, fantasy fiction, gunsmithing and shooting, history (especially war history), and music. I like writing and English literature as well. I love being a part of the gaming and science community. I have a strong political opinion and love to talk about it. I am currently serving a full time mission in Frankfurt, Germany as part of my never ending quest for adventure and service.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because someone took the time to extend a hand of love to my ancestors who came from many different places to find the truth. Because of this incredible blessing, I have had the opportunity to be raised by loving parents who taught me the gospel as I matured. My parents and grandparents are all members who have helped me understand many things about the love God has for me and the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for me. There came a time in my life however, about my senior year in high school, that I became stubborn, angry, and forgetful. I stopped praying and learning about the gospel, and I suffered because of it. I was so confused about everything and when I finished that year, I was more lost than ever. The only thing I still believed in was that God loved me. It kept me going. I then had the faith to start reading again, to repent, and to feel the Spirit. I was amazed at the miracle that had been made in my life. It was then that I knew that everyone needs to have the opportunity to feel like I did; all of God's children need to know what Christ has done for them. I made the choice to become a missionary thereafter.

How I live my faith

Christ taught us what we need to do to live better lives. I just try my best to follow. Sometimes it is really hard to read His word every day or to pray all the time or to follow every commandment, but the first step in living my faith is to be obedient, and not because I want something or because I am told, but because I want to and I understand that it will help my life be better. I want to be like Jesus and the only way to do that is by following what He did and said as best as I can. My favorite way to do this is charity. Charity is the epitome of Christ's love. My heart just breaks when I see one of God's children loving another. That is the way we can really enjoy and relish the test of life. That is the purest joy, the strongest love, and my favorite thing ever. I get the opportunity every day as a missionary of Jesus Christ to help someone and I have been so blessed to be called to do so.
