Hi I'm Faith

I spend my summers on sandy Cape Cod beaches. I am VP of my Model United Nations club, and I love reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the last daughter in my large family, but the title of youngest belongs to my brother. I enjoy reading above all other things, but my true passion is learning. One day I hope to see my name in print. I love being a leader. Finally, I adore spending an afternoon taking a hike anywhere the sun shines.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I chose to remain in the church because I read the Book of Mormon and learned that it contains that words of the prophets and Jesus Christ. I also am at peace with the truths I have found in the church, and I know that it is where God wants for me to be.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Modesto, California. I choose to live my faith by learning how to be like Jesus Christ each day. I want others to feel the joy, and happiness that comes from following the Savior. My faith is my life.

What is faith?

To truly have faith is to step forward on a path that you do not always see the end of. When you act in faith, you purposefully exit your comfort zone to move in the direction that God has desired for you to. Faith is not a passive principle. Faith requires action, which is most easily manifested through trusting in Heavenly Father's plan for us and acting according to the insights he gives us regarding that plan. Faith grows or shrinks depending on whether we decide to make that initial step out of our comfort zone. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Mormons are not required to serve a mission because we have our moral agency to choose what we do with our lives here on earth. While it is strongly encouraged that young men serve a mission, they will not be forced to do so because they have their own ability to make that choice. The invitation to serve a mission is also extended to young women. The choice to serve a mission is always a personal matter to be decided between yourself and God. It is important to know that serving a mission is a great blessing to you and your family, and that you will experience joy as you teach others about Jesus Christ. Serving a mission is not a requirement, however it is a truly blessed privilege. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Our faith in Jesus Christ will increase as we try to become more like Him. As we learn to love and serve others the way that Jesus Christ did, we will experience our faith in Jesus Christ growing. We must also remember to be obedient to the commandments that God has given us, and we must study the teachings of Jesus Christ, if we want to increase our faith in Him. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was inspired by James 1:5, which says "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." He prayed about what church he was to join, and received the answer that he was to join none of them. Joseph Smith was called by God to restore the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth in these times. He became a prophet, which is someone who can speak for God. He translated the Book of Mormon, a history of the people who lived on the American continent before and shortly after Jesus Christ lived on the earth. Show more Show less
