Hi I'm Rebekah

I'm from West Valley City, Utah. I LOVE the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have many hobbies. I love music, water colors, antique collecting, black and white films, and reading good books. I'm all about EVERYTHING outdoors. Camping, boating, canyoneering, hiking... You name it! But my greatest outdoor passions are skiing and backpacking, both in the beautiful mountains, canyons, and valleys of Utah. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mesa, Arizona. I'm an only daughter sandwiched between two brothers. I love my family, they are my everything. My parents raised my brothers and I to be best friends, weekends were always spent together -- camping or squished in the back seat on a road trip. I am so grateful to have such a close family.

Why I am a Mormon

I can't imagine NOT being a Mormon. It's who I am. It's everything in my life. In short, being a Latter-Day Saint makes me happy. I know that by following the principles of the Gospel I have true joy and happiness, it's what has made my life, as well as my family's, so blessed. Without it, I wouldn't be where or who I am. I know Christ lives, I know He is our Savior and Redeemer and I know that this is His established Church. It wasn't easy to figure out, I had to read the Book of Mormon and the Bible, I had to pray and ask God, but He answered my prayer. How could I not be a part of something so beautiful?

How I live my faith

The perfect example is, of course, Jesus Christ. Always striving to do what Christ would do if He were here and in our situation. He would serve, He would forgive, He would guide, He would go the extra mile, He would smile, He would help; in short, He would LOVE. I love to serve! As a teenager, I was a part of the Young Womens organization of the Church. We worked together to plan activities, do service projects, and to learn attributes that not only would strengthen us spiritually but physically, mentally, and prepare us for our future. I was involved in Seminary (a place where high school aged youth come together to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and study the scriptures). There, we learned to be good examples to others and to share our testimonies of Jesus Christ. In college I taught Sunday School and Relief Society (the Womens organization of the Church) lessons for Young Single Adult branches. Growing up in an area where the Church was well known and with a high percentage of membership, it was hard to stand out too much. I tried to live true to my testimony and to share it with others. There came a time when I knew that my testimony of the Gospel was something I wanted to share with everyone! I decided that I would serve a mission. Now, my whole purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by serving and teaching them His Gospel!
