Hi I'm Wendi

I was born in Georgia and grew up in Virginia. Both of my parents were converted, and I was born into the Gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played the clarinet for about seven years, and the piano for three. In school I was in marching band for four years, and I played percussion for two of those years. Along with music, I love to read. Fantasy and Young Adult Fiction are my favorite subjects. I also love to write; I've written a novel for a Personal Progress value project. I learned then that the Lord was willing and ready to help me any all of my projects and interests.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this Gospel is true. I have felt it in my heart while I have read the Book of Mormon, every Sunday when I take the Sacrament, and every time I have been given a blessing. Even though I was born into this religion, I have grown to learn and love what this Gospel has to offer. I have always followed the church guidelines because they made sense to me, and I was never envious of the tumultuous consequences of my peers. I have chosen to accept this Gospel, and I have never regretted that decision.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I attend my church meetings, though I do not hold an official calling. I also like to attend Institute classes every Tuesday, and Young Single Adult Family Home Evening every other Monday.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Wendi
I believe that a testimony is a myriad of experience that lead to faith and beliefs. For example, I've always been afraid to fast, because I would always get sick. But when I entered the MTC, everyone was made to fast. I knew that I could've gotten out of it, but I decided to take a leap of faith and see how it went. I had my fail-saves; water and glucose tablets, in case I got sick. But it turned out that I didn't need the extra sugar, my body handled it pretty well. Because the Lord helped me though that Fast Sunday (one Sunday out of the month were everyone decides to give up eating for a good cause) I knew that he would help me and bless more for my obedience in obeying the law. In fact, because of that fast, my testimony of fasting grew so quickly that I decided to fast again the next week, because I knew that the Lord would help me with what I needed and bless me for my sacrifice.
